Epic Games Pauses Unreal Tournament Development

Thanks to the overwhelming popularity of Fortnite, those of us that were excited about a new entry into the Unreal Tournament series will have to wait a bit longer as the developer has decided to officially put further development of Unreal Tournament on hold.

What a bummer.

Epic Games CEO and founder Tim Sweeney said that “Unreal Tournament remains available in store but isn’t actively developed”, in a recent interview with Variety. Sweeney added that Epic Games had “recently worked with GOG on making classic Epic Games titles available” in their newly announced Epic Games Store, but the news is a letdown to longtime UT fans.

The last update was posted in 2017 and it now seems like we will all be in for a long way before another one pops up.
