Sony Says No Playstation 5 Upgrade Path for Existing Owners of Spider-Man

Sony has indicated that owners of the base version of Spider-Man on Playstation 4 won’t have a free upgrade available to them for the Playstation 5, they will have to pony up the money to get the Playstation 5 version of the game.

Insomniac Games tweeted, in response to a question, that “Saves won’t transfer from the original game to the Remaster”, a real bummer for those who dedicated a lot of time on the game, and planned to play in on Playstation 5.

The dev also confirmed that Miles Morales’ Ultimate Edition will only be available digitally, with “no plans” currently to release a physical version.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales and its Ultimate Edition will be available beginning November 12th on PS5, and on the PS4 the same day.
