CD Projekt Red is gearing up for the highly-anticipate release of Cyberpunk 2077, and Joint CEO at CD Projekt Red, Adam Kicinski has discussed the team’s plans regarding an expansive multiplayer aspect of the game that they are saying is more than a “mode”.
In fact, Kicinski is describing the approach to the multiplayer mode as a “standalone product”.
“So, first, we don’t call it modes,” Kicinski said during an earnings call, according to Seeking Alpha. “It’s a separate dedicated production, a big production. We think about it as a standalone product.”
While the multiplayer version will be connected to the single-player release of the game, it will operate individually, and CD Projekt Red will have a separate team working to provide on-going content for the multiplayer mode.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set to arrive on PC, Playstation, and Xbox consoles on December 10th.
