Twitch streamer Sodapoppin went on a big social media rant, directing his ire towards social media platforms Twitter and Reddit in particular.
Sodapoppin (Chance Morris) was critical of sites that use a voting system that moves the most voted comment to the top of the thread, believing that the system can encourage misguided opinions to be normalized.
He also took aim at people he believes tend to be featured on those aforementioned social outlets, particularly Reddit, which became a subject of chatter within his Twitch chat.
“Any type of messaging system where like there’s a comment that gets voted to the top, is a terrible fucking system and literally just the worst,” Sodapoppin said, according to Dexerto. “
Even Twitter is like that, such a fucking terrible system. Cause usually the only people that take time to comment are actual losers, at least the majority, in most situations. ”
The streamer went on to call the people reading the comments and voting in the system as “a bunch of losers”.
“So you have a bunch of people reading these comments and they’re all a bunch of losers upvoting each other, ‘I agree with this incel statement because I’m also an incel. let me upvote it…’ Then you have normal people go and read it, and they’re like ‘Oh, so this is how normal people feel about this situation’ and then they’re influenced by what they don’t realize are losers,” Sodapoppin said.
