For those of you who play Fortnite on PC, Epic has announced that you’ll need to get your graphics card right in order to take part in all the action on tap for Season 10.
Starting with Season 10, the PC version of Fortnite will require a graphics card capable of running DirectX 11, and while DirectX 11 was always one of the requirements, there was still support for older graphics cards.
That support will end with Season 10.
“This allows us to focus our development and testing efforts to further optimize the Fortnite experience for all players” Epic said, during an official announcement.
DirectX 11 was released in 2011 and with Windows 8, but not all older graphics cards support DX11. Microsoft will officially stop free, extended support for Windows 7 SP1 in January 2020, followed by Windows 8.1 in January 2023.
