Twitch is jumping in the action on Amazon Prime Day by offering giveaways of free content, live streamed events, and even their own live-streamed shopping show.
According to TechCrunch, Twitch has a lot planned for their parent company’s much-hyped day and will be offering giveaways of free content from Apex Legends and EA Sports games along with a live-streamed shopping show to boot.
The plan is for Twitch to loop in some of the most popular Twitch streamers to Amazon’s big shopping holiday with a show called ‘Twitch Sells Out’, which will feature a curated selection of Prime Day deals with a focus on those of interest to the gaming community.
Per the report, the event will kick off on Prime Day at 10:00am PT and will run for 12 hours, and will run again on July 16th during the same 12-hour time frame.
Twitch plans to bring in dozens of Twitch streamers, who have yet to be named, and involve them in showcasing deals on things such as games, gaming peripherals, electronics, and kitchenware as well (because, why not?). They will even show some unseen demos and will be playing games in between pitching the variety of deals. Viewers will be able to buy and pre-order items directly from the stream.
Top Twitch creators (Partners and Affiliates) will also be able to co-stream with Twitch Presents during Prime Day.
