Riot Games has officially announced their plans to move the Liga Latinoamérica (LLA) from Santiago, Chile to Mexico City in 2020.
The plans to move come as Riot Games has reached a new deal with Mexican television network Azteca Deportes, in addition to their partnership with the Cinemax chain of movie theaters.
The LLA will open a live studio at the Mall Artz Pedregal in Mexico City, and will see Riot Games merge the Latin America North and Latin America South into a single competition.
Discussions are currently underway to determine which teams will participate in the 2020 season and competitors are expected to relocate to Mexico.
“Our players and teams remain a priority in this alliance, and that is why we are having conversations with them and we will be supporting them in the relocation process to Mexico City by 2020” Riot Games said in an official announcement.
