Esports Pro League Announces Deal with Axis Sports, eGG Network

The Esports Pro League has announced a partnership deal with Axis Esports, who has been selected as Esports Pro League’s first Malaysian franchisee, and Southeast Asian television channel eGG Network, who will broadcast the event.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with the experienced international team of ESPL” Dato’ Ahmad Zaharul, Founder of Axis Esports said, via a press release. “This partnership represents a pivotal moment in the growth of esports in Malaysia. Axis has strong relationships with stakeholders of the esports industry – including the esports community and globally popular games. We also have the infrastructure and experience in organizing events and tournaments locally.”

“The popularity of esports continues to grow at an accelerated rate because it’s not an elite sport that has the potential to discriminate” Michael Broda, CEO of Esports Pro League said. “It’s global and for everyone, connecting all of the continents. With our valued partners, eGG and Astro, we have extensive geographical coverage, enabling us to further grow our international esports ecosystem in this exciting phase of the esports industry.”

Riot Games has officially unveiled their re-brand for LoL Esports, including a new logo and an emphasis on regional leagues and global events on Tuesday.

The company posted the following video, accompanied by a link to a more detailed announcement, on their official Twitter page.

“We aspire to bring joy to billions of LoL Esports fans around the world,” John Needham, Global Head of Esports, Riot Games, said in an official release, via ESPN. “It starts with building a thriving global esports ecosystem supported by electrifying competition, sustainable growth, cutting-edge technology, bold entertainment, and a focus on integrity for our teams and the sport.”

W Series Esports League Partners with Getty Images

Getty Images, the global visual media brand, has officially announced their partnership with the all-female simulation racing competition known as W Series Esports League, which will see Getty Images serve as the official photographer of the league.

“Ever since Getty Images was founded 25 years ago, our specialist operations team and industry-leading photographic talent have been at the forefront of creating innovative sports photography” Ken Mainardis, Global Head of Content at Getty Images said in an official press release. “This partnership furthers the W Series aim in elevating female esports to a global audience and demonstrates how Getty Images leads the way in delivering cutting-edge content to our customers around the world.”

Simplicity Esports and Gaming Company has officially announced that it has acquired all assets of PL Gaming Texas LLC, which has been referred to as “one of the most successful franchisee-owned esports gaming centres in its nationwide footprint.”

“Our franchisee has done an excellent job building, staffing, and growing this location” Roman Franklin, President of Simplicity Esports said in an official statement. “The gaming center consists of over 30 gaming stations, gaming related merchandise and accessories for sale, and a quality staff that will remain in place after the acquisition to continue serving the center’s thousands of existing customers.”
