Soundcloud will begin airing a weekly, three-hour live chat series called “Cloud Bar” on Twitch on Thursday, May 7th, according to TechCrunch.
The series will see creators, industry executives, industry influencers, and others discuss topics and share thoughts on how to build a career in music. They will also look at the new trends in the music industry, culture, and more.
Per the report, this week’s guests include CAA music agents, Zach Iser and Caroline Yim; artist managers Byron Wilson, Matthew Burnett and Jordan Evans; Dae Bogan of The Mechanical Licensing Collective; XXL’s Editorial Director Georgette Cline; hip-hop entrepreneur Roger Gengo; recording artist, activist and entrepreneur, Vic Mensa; and founder and CEO of Biz 3 Publicity and ICF certified Personal/Professional Coach, Kathryn Frazier.
Starting on May 11th, Soundcloud will introduce two more shows, “Fresh Pressed”, which will air every Monday from 2-3:30 PM ET, and “Fast Track”, which will air every other Wednesday from 2-3:30 PM ET.
Soundcloud took the Twitch on Wednesday, May 6th, at 2 PM ET, with “Studio Sessions with Soulection,” which is a 90-minute music show hosted by Soulection founder Joe Kay. It will feature special guests who will find undiscovered music on Soundcloud and then discuss what makes the track special.
Soundcloud recently announced plans for a new Twitch channel to air content, as they look to capitalize on consumer demand for live entertainment during the Coronavirus pandemic. With Twitch putting far more emphasis on their Twitch music section, this seems like a perfect time for Soundcloud to join the fray.
