Twitch will be launching a playable Pac-Man starting this June, according to The Verge.
The game, which will be called Pac-Man Live Studio, will be available to play by heading to the dedicated Twitch channel for the game when it officially goes live, however you will only be able to play it on a web browser.
The original Pac-Man mazes will be available in the Classic Mode, and the studio will feature additional modes as well. For example, in Endless Mode, up to four players can play with one another and try as they try to reach the top of a global leaderboard, competing for a high school with only one life per level at their disposal.
Studio Mode will allow players to make and share mazes, via amaze editor, while Select Mode allows up to four players to try and get high scores by taking on the available community-constructed mazes.
It’s easy to see why this is making Twitch news headlines this week, as Pac-Man is a classic, and it’s unique implementation on Twitch adds another level of community engagement, and an entertaining experience centered on one of the most beloved, and classic, video games of all time.
