Twitch has issued a statement on the ongoing investigations into Twitch streamers that have been accused of sexual abuse and harassment, and following the #TwitchBlackOut movement and protest that took place earlier this week that put pressure on the popular platform to clean up their community.
“We are reviewing each case that has come to light as quickly as possible while ensuring appropriate due diligence as we assess these serious allegations,” the statement says (h/t Gamespot). “We’ve prioritized the most severe cases and will begin issuing permanent suspensions in line with our findings immediately.”
“We’re also committed to continuing our efforts to make Twitch a safer environment with more tools to combat harassment and hate,” the statement continues. “We have work underway including a review of our Hateful Conduct and Harassment policies, enhanced offensive username detection, improvements to AutoMod and our Banned Words list, and other projects focused on reducing harassment and hateful conduct.”
“We acknowledge that we can’t singlehandedly tackle pervasive issues across the gaming and broader internet communities, but we take our responsibility as a service for our community seriously,” the statement continues. “We will continue to assess accusations against people affiliated with Twitch and explore ways Twitch can collaborate with other industry leaders on this important issue.”

Announcing Partnership with Sudairy
We are happy to announce a new content partnership with Sudairy, which is a news website dedicated to providing streamer news, streaming news, cosplay news, gaming news, esports news and more! This is an industry specific online publication that is syndicated in Google News, and ranks in Google’s Top 10 for Streamer News.
The partnership will provide us another content outlet to provide coverage to the industry, and our plans include featuring the streamers on Gamactica. Our members who hit Partner and/or members we want to add some extra coverage on (for a variety of reasons) will earn the opportunity to be featured in an article interview on Sudairy, which will be featured in Google News.
This is an incredible feature that adds more incentive(s) to our community to be Gamacticans that truly stand out.
Sudairy aims to be a leader in the industry, and we are looking to utilize this partnership to add unrivaled, unmatched, and powerful increased marketing and promotion to our community.
Gamactica Mobile App Update
For those who are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our mobile app, we have an exciting update!
Our app has been completed and is now in the testing phase. The testing phase allows us to iron out any wrinkles, ensure that the features we are implementing work, and fix any bugs that may arise during this process.
While we do not have an exact ETA on the final version of the app, and although it appears it may not arrive in July as we were hoping, we are closing in on the completion of the testing process of the app.
We are still targeting this summer for the release, and we are closing in on the finish line!
Our Stream Directory is home to over 1,000 channels, which provides incredible exposure for the channels listed.
This month we have implemented a new SEO/Marketing approach that has dramatically increased the exposure, traffic, and visibility of this section, and the benefits for the Gamacticans who are listed.
If you have not yet been listed, please fill out the application. If you have recently switched platforms, either in the wake of the Mixer shutdown, or any other reason, please re-submit the application so that we can rebuild your listing page and re-implement the marketing.
The listings with “dead channels” (channels that are no longer available) are at risk of being archived and later deleted.
Riot Games Reveals LoL Esports Re-brand

The company posted the following video, accompanied by a link to a more detailed announcement, on their official Twitter page.
— LoL Esports (@lolesports) July 21, 2020
“We aspire to bring joy to billions of LoL Esports fans around the world,” John Needham, Global Head of Esports, Riot Games, said in an official release, via ESPN. “It starts with building a thriving global esports ecosystem supported by electrifying competition, sustainable growth, cutting-edge technology, bold entertainment, and a focus on integrity for our teams and the sport.”
Rapper Logic Signs Deal with Twitch
Rapper Logic, real name Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, has signed an exclusive deal with Twitch only days after the popular musician announced his retirement on Twitter, saying that it’s time for him to focus on being “a great father.”
According to the Verge, Logic, 30, already had one of the more popular twitch channels and has been streaming since 2015/2016, but states that despite the monetization opportunities that the platform provides, he is not doing it for the money.
“I think it’s a powerful platform that allows me to connect with my fans in the best way possible. And the safest way possible for someone in my position,” Logic says.
“This is the place where if you want to interact with me, you’re going to do it here,” Logic continues. “I’m not going to be on Twitch, having political debates. I’m going to be on Twitch, helping people after they’ve had a day of protesting or political debates, unwind and laugh and smile. And if you want to know how I feel about the world, you listen to my music.”
“I announced my retirement from music because it came to a point where I felt forced, like I had to do certain things,” Logic said. “And it’s not that the label made me feel that way. I was doing it to myself, because I’m such a businessman, and I was pushing myself to the brink of insanity.”
Logic’s first partner stream on Twitch will be his album release. Currently, he’s scheduled to go live at 5PM PT / 8PM ET on Tuesday, July 21st ,and it’s where he’ll be premiering No Pressure, his final LP, ahead of its official release on July 24th.
