Twitch Decides to Change JiDion’s 14 Day Ban to a Permanent Ban!

Previously, it was reported that Imane Pokimane Anys was considering retiring from Twitch. Could this decision be based on an incident that happened during her most recent stream?

Twitch Partnered JiDion on January 11, and he had encouraged his viewers to launch a “hate raid” on Pokimane’s Twitch stream on January 12. Which promptly forced Imane Pokimane Anys to end her stream short after one hour into her stream. Several hate viewers and harassment were directed towards her. He claims that “My dislike for her has nothing to do with her gender, but her as a person!”

Pokimane was streaming Valorant with fellow star streamers Valkyrae, QuarterJade, and others when she noticed a new, loud wave of viewers in her chat who were spamming the message “L + RATIO”.

The new viewers also signaled to the person who sent them, YouTuber and Twitch streamer Jidion.

“Do you guys think that’s another streamer? Or just bots? Who is Jidion? Sent people to my stream to spam… That’s embarrassing, if you get banned I’m not gonna be sad.”

“I think I’m going to end stream because as much as I can deal with this, I don’t like that people from his stream are whispering people on my stream. I’ll put up with the bulls**t but I don’t want you guys to put up with the bulls**t, ok?”

Twitch Immediately banned JiDion from Twitch not too long after the incident occurred for 14 days. Soon after he received the ban, Twitch reversed that decision and banned Jidion permanently from their platform.

Soon after Twitch’s decision to change JiDion two week ban into a permanent ban, he has tweeted “Ban went from 14 days to a perma please use the #twitchfreejidion for me boys”, urging his followers to have twitch unban him.

JiDion later tweeted “In the end, whatever happens, I learned from my mistake and will do better in the future and I learned how much u guys really love me and I’ll be sure to never lose your guys trust.”

“I’m not here to talk about why I got banned because I deserved to get banned,” he said. “It is what it is. I broke the terms of service. But what I am here to talk about is that I’m here to ask Twitch to make it fair.” He explained that his initial ban was only for 14-days.

JiDion claims Twitch decided to make it permanent due to pressure from the community saying it wasn’t severe enough, and he believes that isn’t fair.

Twitch streamer Mizkif shared a sympathetic tweet about the hate that Poki has to put up with. He said: “Sad how Pokimane still has to deal with misogyny and harassment in 2022. And it’s even more sad how I have to say this publicly because people are afraid to stand up and say she’s being treated poorly because they’ll be called a ‘simp.’”

Poki tweeted about her frustrations at fellow streamers: “It baffles me when other streamers don’t stand up against blatant harassment or misogyny…”

Pokimane then protected her Twitter account and hasn’t mentioned anything more about this situation.

Per Twitch’s TOS, Twitch should not be used to incite, encourage, promote, facilitate, or organize hateful conduct or harassment, even against targets off the Twitch services, and doing so will result in enforcement action taken against the relevant accounts.

JiDion continued to harass her even after the hate raid and changed his Twitter profile picture to Pokimane to continue the harassment, and never apologized to her for what he had done. This could be why Twitch changed their mind to permanently ban JiDion.
