Dr. Disrespect Settles Lawsuit against Twitch!

Dr Disrespect

Dr Disrespect, known as Guy Beahm, was previously banned from Twitch on June 26, 2020. It is unknown why he was banned from the platform. He claimed in a YouTube video that he “did not know why” and wasn’t “told anything about it.” Twitch’s public response wasn’t much clearer, telling Insider that “we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.”

He moved to Youtube Gaming, it was later announced that he has known the reason why Twitch banned him for “months now,” however, he has not shared the reason publicly. Dr Disrespect admitted that he has been struggling with anxiety after the Twitch ban.

A year later after the switch to Youtube Gaming, Dr Disrespect took legal action to sue Twitch for permanently banning him. “There’s a reason why we are using the f— out of them,” Beahm mentioned on a previous stream. It has never been announced why Dr. Disrespect was banned from Twitch.

“I make probably a fourth, a quarter of what I was making on Twitch,” begins Dr Disrespect. “A year later from being banned from the platform, well, a lot of people think ‘Hey Doc, you did good, you’re incredible.’ Listen, we’ve certainly tried to maximize the most of what we have to work with […] but the Twitch ban, how it’s really affected us, not just from a financial standpoint but from a networking standpoint, in terms of relationships we’ve built over the past five years, in terms of Activision and EA, everyone all the big sponsors the partnerships, they have to question: why did you get banned?”

Dr. Disrespect has announced on Twitter, that he settled his lawsuit with Twitch and is moving on.

“I have resolved my legal dispute with Twitch,” Dr Disrespect said in a message posted to Twitter. “No party admits to any wrongdoing.”

“In response to all your questions, the Doc will not return to Twitch”
