Let’s face it, Instagram has really changed over the last few years, and not for the better. Constant tweaks to the algorithm and features have reshaped the popular social media sharing platform, so much so that a lot of brands aren’t seeing the same value that they were a few years back.
I can certainly attest to that. When we launched Gamactica back in October 2018, Instagram was a major part of our branding and outreach strategy, and it had massive ROI and conversions for us in the first few years. But, things changed from 2020 on, and what once was a heavy focus of our strategy, has morphed into a spec in our strategy based on the minimal returns.
Apparently, a lot of people feel that the old form of Instagram was the best and are getting behind a petition called ‘Make Instagram Instagram Again’, which has gone viral on it’s journey to over 100,000 signatures and counting.
As Instagram leaned into competing with TikTok, users haven’t been too keen on the changes.
If you are interested in joining in the movement, you can sign the petition.
