Tik Tok Announced Changes in Video Revenue

tiktok news

Tik Tok, recently sent out notifications to content creators that they will start sharing with creators 50% of their net revenue from virtual items, after deducting the required payments to app stores, payment processors, and any other adjustment required under its terms and policies starting February 24th, 2023.

These changes come at a time when Content Creators are urging Platforms such as Twitch, TikTok, YouTube, and Trovo to provide a better way to get revenue. Whether it be allowing ads for monetization, or taking them a less cut of the revenue that is paid out to content creators.

Apple currently receives a 30 percent commission rate as of July 2022, a rate for App Store transactions and regular subscriptions. Additionally, app developers that host their apps on the Apple App Store and manage to retain subscription users see their commission fees drop to 15 percent after the subscriber’s first year.
