As per a court document that was filed on April 4, 20223, Twitter, Inc has merged into X Corp. and no longer exists. No publicly traded corporation owns 10% or more of the stock of X Corp. or X Holdings Corp. The court document shows that it is part of a lawsuit that was filed in California last year by Laura Loomer against Twitter and founder/former CEO Jack Dorsey.
There was no announcement of doing so beforehand whenever Elon decided to purchase Twitter and Musk stated, “If you’re in China, you kind of live on WeChat,” Musk said. “It does everything. It’s sort of like Twitter, plus PayPal, plus a whole bunch of things all rolled into one, with a great interface. It’s really an excellent app, and we don’t have anything like that outside of China.”
It seems that Elon is turning X into an everything app that can possibly process payments in the future and as well be a US version of WeChat.
