The Overwatch League will be hitting the road in 2020, according to an announcement from Overwatch League Commissioner Nate Nanzer.
“The Overwatch League is coming home – and away! Starting in 2020, all Overwatch League teams will be playing in their home cities.” Nanzer wrote, on his official Twitter page,
“We’re super excited to see our original vision brought to life. Thanks to all of our fans for your amazing support!”
The Overwatch League boasts 20 teams from around the world, thirteen teams from North America, four from China, two from Europe and one from South Korea.
In 2020, each of those teams will have it’s own venue, which will be a pre-existing venue, or one that will be built, and will play half their games in their “home” venue and the other half in the “away” venues.
The league schedule will be structured so that teams closer to one another geographically will play each other more often.
