The 1st quarter proved that Twitch is still the ultimate resource for watching live game streaming, especially popular titles such as Fortnite and Apex Legends.
According to a report from StreamElements and analytics firm Stream Hatchet, viewers watched around 2.7 billion hours worth of content on Twitch during the first quarter of 2019, showcasing a 35% increase from the first quarter of 2018.
But, Twitch wasn’t alone in experiencing a bit of a boom, as Microsoft’s Mixer saw some growth as well.
Per analytics, Mixer saw 89 million hours watched during the 1st quarter of this year, which is a significant jump from 22 million hours watched last year.
In terms of which games are responsible for driving the majority of these numbers, you can look to games such as Fortnite topped them all with 311.7 million hours, with Apex Legends coming in at 182.7 million hours watched, just behind League of Legends which clocked in 302.4 million hours watched.
