While Twitch has not officially commented on the rumors, or revealed any plans related to a potential pay-per-view segment of the platform, it hasn’t stopped speculation within the Twitch community, with some worried that these streamers would attempt to broadcast racy content behind the paywall of a subscriber-only stream, but somehow still adhere to Twitch’s terms of service.
It will be interesting to see what, if anything, comes of this, but it could also be a way for Twitch to broadcast major sporting and entertainment events as an alternative to the traditional PPV format.
