Porsche has been able to score a major win on Twitch in a new advertising spot, and you have to tip your cap to how they generated so many views.
Porsche’s new ad challenged a viewer to visit their channel and figure out a puzzle to get a look at the first Porshce electric racecar, the Porsche 99X.
“We wanted to do something completely unique with it, which was actually make a real-life video game,” says Twitch’s Adam Harris, according to Digiday.
While the ad was reportedly costly, Porsche was able to average around 28,000 viewers while it was officially live on the company’s channel.
Harris chalks it up to the perfect execution of a well drawn out formula.
“If you pitch it in the right way and you come up with the correct kind of concept and narrative that has the community pulling together, they really engage and embrace this kind of content.”
