Twitch’s Dr Disrespect Developing TV Series Based on His Character

Published

on

One of Twitch’s most popular streamers, Guy “Dr. Disrespect” Beahm, is doing something that no streamer has done just yet, and it goes beyond the gaming world.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Beahm says that a deal is in place to create a narrative scripted television series based on his streaming character, adding that there have been “some early discussions around animation.”

While there are no other details available about the show, the show will center on “how the doctor became the doctor” and includes the backstory of his Dr Disrespect character.

It’s also unclear if Beahm will address the numerous controversies he has been involved in, including being suspended for streaming in a public bathroom, and taking a hiatus from streaming, and having an affair.

“The one thing I try to focus on is making sure everything stays consistent,” Beahm said. “You don’t want to lose the authenticity of the character.”

Skybound Entertainment and Beahm have teamed up for the show, and it does not have an official home. But due to his affiliation with Twitch, which is owned by Amazon, it is possible that Amazon Prime Video could be a landing spot.
